Can you taste the Vitamins?

What’s in our food?

An exercise for primary, secondary and university classes.

Learning objectives:

Learning about fruits and vegetables that contain many important vitamins for our health. Macro and micro elements can be either tasted or detected using edible plants and iodine.  The amount of Vitamin C in different fruits and vegetables can be determined and calculated with a simple test. Raspberries, apples , black and red currant and plums can be found on the plot and ranked by their Vitamin C content after the experiment.
